A traditional camp activity requiring teamwork and skill, canoeing is part of our boating instruction for our younger campers, and an activity open for all ages during our General Swim periods. Campers learn paddling and maneuvering, as well as safety skills such as rescuing a man overboard, righting/emptying a swamped canoe, and a favorite— capsizing and paddling their own swamped canoe. Brant Lake Camp houses 12 canoes of various lengths and capacities, allowing campers and counselors to paddle in our designated small crafts area, and go on longer trips with additional safety and supervision.
