Sending a child to summer camp is a tremendous act of faith by parents. At Brant Lake, we take that responsibility very seriously and partner with parents in helping their children develop new interests and skills as they discover new strengths and build their self-esteem. We maintain an environment that supports campers with instruction, encourages them with meaningful praise, provides safety, and reinforces a positive self-image.
First time campers at Brant Lake Camp can look forward to new friendships, memorable experiences, and most importantly — having FUN!
Preparing for Camp:
The Brant Lake Way provides an incredibly fun experience steeped in tradition, camp spirit, and good values. We take great pride in providing physical and emotional safety for our campers while helping to develop their sense of independence.
Your First Day at BLC
Your first day at Brant Lake starts the moment you step on the bus. Our mature, adult key staff and counselors from your age group will be riding up to camp with you and help create a warm and amiable environment, ensuring no camper — new or returning — “slips through the cracks.” From friendly banter about favorite sports teams, movies, and TV shows, to conversations about what everyone is most looking forward to this summer at camp, our counselors and key staff make sure that everyone feels like they are a part of the fun and excitement. New campers get a chance to meet returning campers, and by the time they arrive “home” at BLC, they already feel like Brant Lakers!
The first thing we do when we get to camp is PLAY! There’s no better way to make friends and meet people than playing ball and having fun. Soon after, you will connect with your bunkmates and the counselors in your bunk. When you enter your bunk, your bed and area will already be set up and unpacked. This provides the feeling of walking into your home, with the familiarity of seeing your personal belongings already set up. We are meticulous about bunk placements and use our vast experience to consider many factors when forming bunks. Our ability to integrate first-time campers and ensure that no one slips through the cracks is a testament to our years of experience and attention to detail.
