Hi Brant Lake Camp Family!
I hope this finds everyone doing well after an enjoyable Spring Break. I know I’m not the only one who feels the weather change and immediately gets their mind pulled to the green hills and blue skies of Brant Lake. The anticipation and excitement for another summer at BLC is real and shared by campers and staff alike. I’m proud to report we have over 50 long-time BLC Key Staff members back for Summer 2024. Take a look at the next few pages to see many of those familiar faces. While the quantity (and quality!) of our Key Staff is always important to us, their experience and expertise will be called upon more than ever. This summer we will be welcoming over 20 Freshmen (1st graders) to camp.
On the personal front, Chloe and I are excited to share news of the expected arrival of another baby girl! (ETA September; please do send some “no early labor” vibes our way.) Like most of America, we thoroughly enjoyed watching March Madness. While our Tar Heels run came to an end a bit earlier than we’d have liked, we were glued to the TV watching the Iowa women and Caitlin Clark. (Chloe actually spent the entire 2012-2013 season with the Lady Hawkeyes as an athletic trainer.)
The BLC Spotlight this season turns to Jack Adler [page 8]. Jack (Senior C ‘16) has taken his love of sports and turned it into a company called Out2Win, which specializes in the NIL space. We loved getting to hear about how his camp-built independence and BLC network propelled his career forward. New families take special note of him recalling his first summer as an Inter B.
Also, like Richie G. writes in his corner (page 7), I can’t help but continue to see the ever growing value in camp these days. The ubiquitous ‘nature’ of technology feels impossible to avoid, but I can’t think of any place better than Brant Lake Camp to help combat it.
Only 52 days until the start of camp! See you all soon!!
